I am interested in obtaining information about a cartoon
called "Twinkles". The title character was an elephant and he
regularly had encounters with his friends Fulton the camel, a monkey
(whose name I can't remember), and some other animals as well.
I remember seeing it from 1963 - 65 or so in the Chicago area and there
was even a Twinkles cereal.
In addition, my sister would very much like to know if the
cartoon "Bucky and Petito" is available anywhere. She finally
verified that she actually had seen such a cartoon when an article
appeared about it in a cartoon magazine to which she subscribes.
Any info. you can provide will be much appreciated.
John M. Uscian
Twinkles, a flying baby elephant, appeared in ninety second cartoons produced by Leonardo TV Productions/Total TV Productions.
The cartoons originally appeared on NBC-TV's King Leonardo and His Short Subjects in 1960 (Later retitled The King and Odie in syndication). The Twinkles shorts dealt with elementary subjects for pre-schoolers. In addition, he was featured on General Mills Twinkles cereal. The cereal boxes could be opened up into a story book, featuring tales with the scholarly tot and his buddies including Fulton the Camel, Sanford the Parrott and Winston the Monkey. Twinkles is featured on The Toon Tracker King and Odie Page.
Bucky and Pepito appeared in 1958 from Sam Singer Productions. I am not aware of any official video release of any episodes of the cartoon.
Bucky was a young boy with a wild imagination, and the spirit of an explorer. The stories dealt with his adventures accompanied by his best friend, Pepito, the inventor. Dallas McKennon (Gumby) provided the voices.

I'm looking for any information on resources (electronic or otherwise)
having to do with a cartoon that ran in 1981 called Dr. Snuggles.
I haven't been able to locate any websites that really focus on this cartoon
I'd appreciate any help you could provide.
Richard Jackson
The show was about a good natured veterinarian who travels anywhere using a pogo stick to care for animals. It premiered on September 12, 1981 in syndication. It was a KidPix Productionm with Peter Ustinov providing the voice of Dr. Snuggles and several other characters on the show.
I am not aware of any web sites based on the show.

Please Help Me.
I have searched all over the internet for a cartoon which
I really enjoy, but rarely every get to see. It's about a
boy and a very intelligent dog. He wears glasses and he is
always answering the boys questions. Could you please let me
know what this cartoon is called. I would really appreciate it.
If you need me to be a more specific I can be. I cannot find
the name of this cartoon anywhere. Please email me back.
Thank You,
Shawn
You must be referring to Mr. Peabody, and his boy Sherman. They appeared in Peabody's Improbable History. Check out Toon Tracker's Hoppity Hooper Page for a picture of the pair.
They were originally featured on Jay Ward's Rocky and his Friends, and have been repeated on numerous other series through the years. Bill "Bullwinkle" Scott provided Mr. Peabody's voice and Walter Tetley was Sherman.!

Hi!
Thanks for all the stuff on "Clutch Cargo". I was a big fan.
Do you have anything on "Tom Terrific" or "Mighty Mouse"?
Thanks!
Karen
I sure do. Check out the Toon Tracker Terrytoon Page. There's information on Tom Terrific, Mighty Mouse and all the Terrytoons.
Another great source for Mighty Mouse information is Win Hamonic's Mighty Mouse Page.
For information and pictures of the most recent Mighty Mouse series, go to Vintage Ink and Paint's Bakshi's Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures. This page is devoted to Ralph Bakshi's 1987 series.
I also have the theme songs to both of these original cartoons, plus lots more, in RealAudio at the Toon Tracker RealAudio Page.

Dear Toontracker,
First off, thanks for the effort that you put into helping us relive
our childhood memories by telling us about long lost cartoons. I
very much enjoy just reading through what others on the toon tracker
web site are trying to find.
As for myself, I am looking for videos (or information) on a cartoon
of sorts. Actually, this show, entitled "Diver Dan", used fish puppets
on strings that interacted with a hard hat diver (the old brass or copper
helmet deep sea diver rig) whose name was the same as the title.
The show was better than that description might sound as Diver Dan
visited such places as the Lost City of Atlantis and had lots of other
adventures that I loved as a kid (and would probably also love as
an adult). In any case, the show was done as a series and you had to
watch all the shows for a week or two to get a completed story.
The "good guys" in the show were: Diver Dan, Miss Minerva (a mermaid),
Finley Fish, Doc the sturgeon surgeon fish, Sam the swordfish, Georgie
Porgie fish, and some others I can't recall. The "bad guys" were the infamous
Baron Barracuda and his sidekick Trigger fish. Diver Dan aired in the Chicago
area on a show called the Ray Rayner Show through the 60's and early 70's.
I was told that it was also at least shown in California somewhere.
I'm also interested in fining out if anyone knows where I might find Volume I
of the Clutch Cargo video tape put out by Streamline Pictures a few years ago.
I have Vol. II and would sure like to get Vol. I of Clutch cargo also.
Thanks for all your help in this and for your great web page as well.
John M. Uscian (e-mail: uscian@darwin.upr.clu.edu)
Diver Dan first appeared in 1960, a mixture of live actors and marionettes. Frank Freda appeared as the deep sea explorer Diver Dan and Suzanne Turner as the beautiful and elusive mermaid Miss Minerva, with the rest of the cast made up of marionette fish puppets.
Alan Swift, who did the voices of Simon Bar Sinister on Underdog, Odie Cologne and Tooter Turtle on The King and Odie among many others, provided the voices for all the fish characters as well as for Diver Dan. The fish included Doc Sturgeon, Scoutfish (complete with a tomahawk) and the evil Baron Barracuda.
The theme song to Diver Dan is available on The Toon Tracker RealAudio Page.
The two volumes of Clutch Cargo, the vintage animation with the living lips, can be ordered from the manufacturer, Streamline Pictures over the internet. Streamline also has Colonel Bleep, Space Angel and lots of anime available.
UPDATE - Dan McCormick e-mailed the following to me on August 1, 1997:
Hi again, Ron!
I was reading the latest Movies Unlimited Catalog, and found a tape titled "Chicago Television". Available for $19.99, the tape is described as follows:
"Past and present Second City residents won't want to miss this salute to local Chicago shows from way back when. Includes clips from Don McNeill's Breakfast Club, Garfield Goose & Friends, and Svengoolie; sports action with the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Black Hawks; complete episodes of Clutch Cargo, Diver Dan, Suzy Snowflake, and more; plus footage of the 1933 World's Fair; the Beatles at Comiskey Park, and the 1968 Democratic Convention. 120 minutes."
Since it has Clutch, Diver, and footage from Garfield Goose, I figured you'd be interested in this.
Their address is:

Thanks Dan. This is the same tape that I encoded the Diver Dan theme from. TV Lost and Found put out this tape and a companion tape, Chicago TV2. I'm glad to know that it's still available. Thanks again, Dan.
Hey, don't forget to check out Dan's GREAT Hoppity Hooper Homepage. It's full of lots of neat information and goodies pertaining to Hoppity, and to other Jay Ward shows!

cartoon that I remember watching as a child. The cartoon was about
five superheroes and based in a city, the five characters names were
as follows: Diaper-Man, Strong-Man, Tornado-Man, Rope-Man, & Coo-Coo-Man.
I've asked many people if they remember this cartoon and
most do but none remember the name. If you can, with your access to
classic cartoon information, find out the name of this seemingly
"nameless cartoon", it would be much appreciated. Hopefully I will see it on
this links page the next time I check it out. By the way the links page is
awsome! I've found tons of stuff here. Keep up the great work.
