Hello,
I Love your site!! I found it while looking for information on
Beany And Cecil, my all time favorite cartoon.
About the same time The Wild Wild West aired,
there was an animated version of The Lone Ranger
that aired about the same time. There was even an evil
little person along the line of Dr. Loveless. Can you tell me
when it aired and who were the principle voices?
I'm looking foreward to hearing from you soon.
Mark Hadlund
Hi Mark,
The Lone Ranger animated series was produced by Herb Klynn and Format Films (producers of the original Alvin Show) for Jack Wrather Corporation/Lone Ranger Television. It appeared on CBS-TV from September 10, 1966 through September 6, 1969.
Michael Rye provided the voice of the Lone Ranger, with Shepard Menken (Clyde Crashcup) as the voice of Tonto. Dick Beals provided the voice of Tiny Tom, which I believe is the evil little person you mentioned. Other voices included Marvin Miller, Hans Conried and Agnes Moorehead.
You can hear the theme song to The Lone Ranger animated series on Toon Tracker's RealAudio Page.

Hi,
When I was young, in the early, mid sixties, there was a
cartoon called Kimba the White Lion.
Could you give me some history on the series like how
long it ran, and who produced it?
Thanks,
Laura
Hi Laura,
Kimba, the White Lion was originally produced in Japan by Osamu Tezuka's Mushi Productions. It was imported to America by NBC Enterprises and syndicated from 1966 through 1971.
Kimba, voiced by Billie Lou Watt, struggled to protect his peaceful jungle kingdom against vicious enemies and the perils of nature in this pacifist-tinged series.

What was the name of the female woodpecker that appeared
on Woody Woodpecker's cartoons?
Was she a sister?
Other relative?
Live in sex slave?
Thank you.
Hi Pat,
It was never made clear in the
cartoons, but she was probably the live-in se........
Well, never mind! But seriously, the female woodpecker was Woody's girlfriend,
Winnie.
She wasn't a major player in the series, but appeared in several cartoons including 'Real Gone Woody', released September 20, 1954.

I found it fascinating that Fred Flintstone would be smoking --
it seems so out of place in today's society! Would you have a
screen shot from this introduction, in which (I presume) Fred is
holding a cigarette? It would be interesting to see! Thanks.
-Doug Keene
Hi Doug,
Well, believe it or not, here is Fred lighting up a Winston!
I guess in those days people weren't expected to be PC...just B.C.!

Hey I just voted for your page because in my opinion this
is the most complete Toon page there is!!
I was looking thru your page & didn't find a couple of toons
that I remember. One is a toon everone knows. Space Ghost.
But there was a toon that came on with Space Ghost (in the same
way that Go Go gophers came on with Underdog) called The Herculoids.
Do you have any info and/or pics of these?
Great work with your site!! See ya.
Robert Johnson
Hi Robert,
First off, thank you for the vote. It's really great to know that I'm able to help others relive their pasts!
Space Ghost premiered on CBS-TV September 10,1966 through September 7, 1968. There are many pages on the internet devoted to Space Ghost. Here are some:
The Official Space Ghost Web Page
Space Ghost's Ghost Planet
Space Ghost Bio
The Original Space Ghost Web Page
All Hail Brak!
Space Ghost Planet Magazine Interview
Space Ghost TV Guide Interview
The Herculoids, which was originally a show of it's own, was seen on CBS-TV from September 9, 1967 through September 6, 1969. It's featured on the Toon Tracker Request Archive Nine. The Herculoids were later combined with Space Ghost reruns from February 4, 1978 through September 2, 1978 on NBC-TV. New episodes were made in 1981 for NBC-TV's Space Stars series.
In addition to the Toon Tracker entry, there's also a great Herculoids page on the Pazsaz Entertainment Network site. This page even includes an episode guide of both the original and the remake.
The theme songs to both series are featured in RealAudio at the
Toon Tracker RealAudio Page.
I hope this helps, and thanks again for the vote.

Hi Kenneth,
Glad you enjoyed the pages. For a picture and info about Tom Slick, see the answer to the next request.
The second cartoon you asked about was Terrytoon's "The Mighty Heroes", from animator Ralph Bakshi. You'll find pictures on Toon Tracker's Terrytoons Page . Paul Carey also has a Mighty Heroes Page from at his Cartoon-O-Rama Site.
Now here's another Tom Slick request:

Hi,
I also took the time and saw all of your request archives,
but now I have a small thing to ask: I am trying to find the
name of the race driver in the George Of The Jungle show
(I think that it is his show). He is always chased by the same
vilien. I only remember that there was an episode that he was
driving inside a giant doughnut.
Other then that I wanted to say that I loved your site, I am
younger than the other people that wrote to you but still I
know many of the cartoons that appear in your site.
Thank you,
Leehi Magaritz.
Hello Leehi,
Glad you enjoyed the pages. The love of animation appears to be universal and transcend all age barriers.
The cartoon you are referring to was Tom Slick, who drove his race car, the Thunderbolt Grease Slapper in cartoons which originally appeared on Jay Ward's "George of the Jungle". The series originally ran in America from September 9, 1967 through September 5, 1970 on ABC-TV. The cartoons featured the adventures of auto racer, Tom Slick aided by his girlfriend, Marigold, and his grandmother, Gertie Growler.
You'll also find the theme songs to Tom Slick, along with many others, at the Toon Tracker RealAudio Page.
