Comments: Is there anywhere to get some of those old Crusader Rabbit episodes on video? If so, where? Please e-mail any info you have to the e-mail above. It was great reading up on the history of the show. It is a cartoon I remember from my childhood, and would love to see them again.

Comments: All my life I have wondered "What is that message at the end of 'The Rocky and Bulwinkle Show?'" it says something like "Psnobby Britt" then some of the letters disappear and only a few are left. PLEASE if at all possible could you shed some light on this for me? An explanation on what it means or stands for? I am truly dying to know! Please E-mail me if you know anything.

Comments: To all cartoon fans on the Internet: I would like you to visit the RUFF page. It was intended to save the cartoon show "Road Rovers". This canine cartoon show was part of Kids WB weekend line-up for the 1996-97 season which ended on September 6, 1997. Unfortunately, Kids WB din't renew this show but replace it with more Superman (1 hour of it), Batman and a French cartoon "Calamity Jane". That means the Big Networks like Fox Kids or Kids WB will decide which cartoon shows they will take on or off the air against our will. If you stand against this unfair practice by the Networks even if you ever saw the Rovers or not, then please visit the RUFF page. HELP US SAVE THE ROVERS!!! To the power of the pack!!!! Awooooooo!!!!

Comments: Glad to know of other people who remember Crusader Rabbit. In my 4th grade school year (1954-55), I saw all 195 episodes (without a miss) of the 10 early stories and wrote down all the episode titles as I went along. Unfortunately, only about 20% of these lists survive today. If you have any influence on the powers that be, please do what you can to get the last 8 stories released on videotape to accompany the first 2 that Rhino did a few years ago. You can't imagine how much I would like to see The Great Horse Mystery and the Levee Belle Showboat stories again after all these years. I have a handful of episodes on audiotape that I got from American Forces Network TV in Germany in 1980, and that merely whetted my appetite.

Comments: Hello folks, Thanks for a fun site. I call it a memory flogger as some details I had forgotten or just didn't know. I grew up in Southern California in a Leave It to Beaver type neighborhood so early TV was terrific in LA during the time. My children recognized the Crusader Rabbit/Rags character similarity to Rocky and Bullwinkle but I did not know how much of the Jay Ward characters and ideas originated in the 40's. When Rocky & Bullwinkle ran on Nick I had to tell my kids to forget the animation and listen to the story, the clever twists of thoughts, words and the ever present puns. A frequent writer on R&B also worked on Get Smart with a name like Hayward or Burns, I can't exactly recall. Thanks again for the research and material. Yes, 'net sites do not have to be seedy as so many think. I found your site as a secondary item to checking on voice actors. Bob Elliott Meridian, MS

The old stuff is so cool its coming back on its own cable channels around the nation; but whats that say about our generation??? Who cares! Lifes too short to take seriously, so have fun and chase after those old "violent" toons of yesteryear, and see if we cant get one sponsered by a cigarette ad again! (That was awesome...)

Comments: Have great fondness for Crusader Rabbit since watching it avidly in Junior High in the late '50s, and was hoping it would be on the Internet. Hurray, it is! Now, if we could just get it back on TV! It is part of "The Good Old Days" for me which includes The Mickey Mouse Club and American Bandstand and good friends Grace and Bucky Otte (guys, are you out there somewhere?) But I can't remember what larger show Crusader was linked to, if any. Or did it stand alone as its own show? This has bugged me for years! Anyway, SO GLAD to have found it! --Barb Johnson

Comments: I am currently woking on a website entitled Storm Haven. It 's purpose is to provide a place of quiet and safety for all who have suffered from abuse, in all forms, and the stress it causes. It is not just for women BUT all who have experienced these traumatic situations in their life in- cluding children. I also want to provide a page specifically for children with cartoon characters and other fun things to help take their mind off of their situation. I felt that older cartoons would be excellent - not the traditional beat-em up and kill type - ones like Deputy Dawg etc. that go back to my generation. I am having alot of trouble finding anything on the Deputy though and perhaps you could help me with this. Of course full credit would be given for the link and only done with permission. Also there will be a list of Hotline Numbers for both children and adults as well as alternative methods of releasing the stress of what they are going through. There will be peacful scenics to view etc. - I have only begun this work as it requires a great deal of research time and seeking permission to use certain, very important links, etc. I feel that laughter is one of the best stress removers and also one of the best medicines and easiest to take, especially for children. If you could help me find out more about Deputy Dawg and his band of critters, I would be forever greatful. Thankyou for reading this and also for an excellent site that has rekindled in me the laughter of my childhood. Sincerely; Merrie Lindsay

Comments: I was looking for information on Mr. Magoo. I used to watch him on T.V. as a child but I have an adult friend who believes he is a real person. Whenever, I mention Mr. Magoo, she almost cries because she feels so sorry for him. I try to explain to her that he's not real and, if he was real, he doesn't mind being blind, but she doesn't seem to care. I also have promised her that with our new advanced technology, he probably has had cartoon laser surgery by now and is all better. I

Many of our co-workers and friends were unaware how avant garde the cartoon really was. Again, the serendipity and reach of the Internet were demon- strated a few months ago when I searched under "Winky Dink" and found your site, apparently active for only a few days or weeks. This should not be confused with "Marty Lick's gumby on the web" or others that only deal with the newer series or otherwise treat the fans with contempt. Aong with Mr.Kurer';s page this is one of only two Gumby pages on the wen that I am aware of that pay tribute to the original show as it looked and sounded in the 1950s and 1960s.

Comments: Excellent site! I knew if I looked long enough I'd find others who were as fanatic about old TV cartoon shows as I am. I grew up in Southern California watching the old Japanese cartoons like "Gigantor," "Astro Boy," "Speed Racer," and "Kimba the White Lion." I enjoyed the more traditional Saturday-morning fare like "Scooby Doo" and "The Archies," but there was something different and special about Japanese animation that fascinated me. By the way, does anyone out there remember a show called "The Amazing Three"? It was about three outer-space aliens sent to Earth to study human civilization. Towards this end, they assumed the forms of three farm animals (a rabbit, a horse, and a duck, I think) and befriended a young boy. Are there any websites with information on this show? I'd love to download pictures and sound clips. Anyway, thanks for the memories and keep up the good work.

It really took me back but heres a challenge for you A cartoon thats been really really forgotten about that starred Tom Bosley as Harry Boyle and Don Knotts as one of his neighbors Its from the 70s and had the catchiest theme song. It was called Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. I haven't seen it in over 18 years I'd say and theres absolutely nothing on the net about it. the song went something like: I love my mom and my dad and my brothers too and the groovy way we get along. Every time the slightest little thing goes wrong mom starts to sing a familiar song "Wait til your father gets, untill your father gets, Wait till your father gets home. Good luck with this one and keep them coming Rick Pereira

I watched the show when I was 5 years old and had the screen. It was a great experience. Is there any materials from the Winky Dink show available either magic screen & crayons or t-shirts. I'd really be interested. Thanks--

Comments: Hi! Love your Toon Tracker site and the many cool links with which you provided it. I'd like you to know that I have started a website of my own: THE NEW TOM AND JERRY INFORMATION SITE, a page which includes info on the 1975-77 version of Tom and Jerry as produced by Hanna-Barbera and first seen on ABC-TV as THE NEW TOM AND JERRY/GREAT GRAPE APE SHOW (remember THAT rare gem?). It isn't finished yet, as I have only a handful of synopses in the Episode Guide link and no images yet. Still, don't be too shy to log onto my site and e-mail me to give me feedback. Who knows - maybe someday you might want to put up a link for me! Later...

Comments: I much prefer the older toons before the 70s. (Shows like Gargoyles and others are giving animation a bad name, esp, with the claptrap over slapstick!). LINUS THE LIONHEARTED I really miss. I also loved GUMBY-not the resountracked versions of older shows and reruns and Nickelodeon,or formerly reruninng but the show as it sounded in the mid 1950s to 60s. Ironically, one web page on the show mentions the Heart Gumby song, absent in the new awful show, showcased on ALL the Gumby apges.Ron, wouldcha be interested in a page on the ORIGINAL Gumby show,,..Voice info is a bit complicated.. Gumby..various women..Dallas McKennon, and Dick Beals. Pokey, his horse/minor stars...Art Clokey,Dal McKennon Goo,women's...Norma MacMillan Prickle...Art Clokey Others connected with the Clokey Studio on this and on DAVEY AND GOLIATH were Hal Smith (possibily the third voice of Pokey, and GOLIATH's voice and others for Clokey Productions in the 50s and 60s),Nancy Wible, and Ginny Tyler. Capitol Records's music library,so familiar to fans of "Nick at Nite" type shows, cartoons included,is featured on this show (and in six Warners cartoons from fall 1958). Composers were Bill Loose,Clarence Wheeler,Jack Cookerly,Phil Green,Raoul Kraushaar,Dan Kirsten,Irving Friedman,Ed Lund and a few others (thanks to Dave Mackey,dmackey@raven.cybercom.net, for info on Loose,Wheeler,Lund,Kruashaar, and Green's involvement, the end credits to ENCINO MAN for Dan Kirstens' credit,HOT SHOTS for the FATHER KNOW BEST/Capitol/Friedman credit, and Screen Gems end credits for Friendman's credit, and Jon Burlingame for Loose's and Cookerly's involvement as well as a history behind the company,in TVS BIGGEST HITS,1996). CLokey wrote the Gumbys himself for the most part,,and i'd love for the show as it sounded originally and original broadcvast dates (almost forgotten and never quite given byANY sources, but I know 1967 marked Prickle,G0oo,and the Heart song's appearance though),and music credits for the 1967 series given..And Top Cat as requested by the first writer here as well...Does anyone prefer the original Gumby show (NOT the way the old episodes sound on Nick, those are all new episodes are as I'm concerned?) None of the Gumby pages even seem to care that the show was redone audially because of Capitol's own ironic, greedy involvement here(similiar to Peggy Lee's Disney suit-she recorded for Capitol, ironic in this context, over Lady and Tramp). In the end some guy redid the music for Clokey, same as in ACTUAL 1988 Gumbys, and its in the 1996 movie.Bummer.:(

Comments:Thank you for these wonderful home pages. Many of these cartoons are cherrished memories of my younger days. I really was a follower of The Funny Company.Thank you for giving proper credit to those who were the first to use the smile-face. I sure wish Calvin and the Colonel was on more. That was a favorite of my parents too,who were fans of Amos & Andy and thus told me what the origins were.Did you know that in 1962,Dell published two Calvin & the Colonel comic books? Hoppity Hooper is proably the least remembered of Jay Ward's series. It's a shame too because it was just as good as any of the others. While many remember who lived in Frostbite Falls,Minnesota no one seems to remember who lived in Foggy Bog,Wisconsin. Beany and Cecil was my favorite.I loved all the characters and relished the songs.I learned the song Ragg-Mopp from Cecil. There were inovative songs like Snorky,Robot Ants,Hare-cules Hare,Guided Muscle, and many which utilized traditional tunes-using very clever lyrics.(I remember at least four different songs which used the tune of,"This Old Man."They were a lot more fun than the current version popularized by the Purple Creature on PBS.)I almost forgot that their theme song was the tune,"sailing over the B Those old Japanese cartoons had their own charm. Thanks for reminding me of Tobor and the others. A man who I corresponded with a few times during the 80s was Don Messick, who did regular voices for many cartoons from 1957 on.He is just about the only man whose voices I grew up with who is alive today.I consider him the senior member of the voice-staff of Hanna-Barbera-now that Daws Butler is dead.Looking back,I think Messick surpassed Butler in regular voices as time went on. I hope that one day the Cartoon Network acquires all of the old series, theatrical as well as television.I also hope my Cable-System gets the Cartton Network one day,but that's another story...another letter to another adress,in fact. Thanks again for giving us fans the chance to remember and a place to voice our feelings.

Comments: I am the son of Alex Anderson, great nephew of Paul Terry. I enjoyed reading both this page, and the Crusader Rabbit page. One clarification of fact needs to be done. When Shull Bonsell bought TAP from Anderson & Ward, Anderson NOT Ward retained the rights to characters. My dad sold 50% of these rights to Ward who went on to develop Bullwinkle and all its glory. When the Ward estate began selling off the rights in the early 90's, my dad sued. The settlement in 1995 required the Wards to state the truth that Alex Anderson created Bullwinkle. They continue to deny this.

Comments: It was very nostalgic to see all of the old cartoons. I especially liked Clutch Cargo because the title characetr flew one of my favorite airplanes, the 1929 Bellanca c-27A Skybus. Only about 20 or so of these planes were actually ever made and the fact that Clutch Cargo flew this plane is testimony that the person who made the cartoon sure knew his planes. I would like to buy some videos of Clutch Cargo cartoons. Does anyone know where I might get the videos. I did try ordering two volumes of Clutch Cargo through a local video store here in Puerto Rico soon found out that these were no longer available. Also, I'd like to get some old Diver Dan episodes. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks and great line!

Comments: Enjoyable - I'd forgotten how many of those cartoons I had watched as a kid (and probably still would if time permitted!). I can rememeber trying to get to the five minute slot to watch the Clutch Cargo cartoon every day. I just came here to find out about Space Angel, but stayed to browse the memories. I didn't remember the limited animation - I'd like to see it now, just because. Now a toon question - What was the name of the turtle that kept going to Mr. Wizard? I associate it in my mind with Tennessee Tuxedo (which I haven't checked out yet). The hapless turtle kept wanting to be some occupation, which Mr. Wizard would obligingly turn him into. After learning about the occupation, the turtle would get into trouble, shout "Help me, Mr. Wizard! Help me!", and the wizard would chant in his German accent "Drizzle-Drazzle Drizzle-Drone, Time for this vun to come home". The turtle would return to the wizard's cottage, be told that being a ____ was not as easy as it looked, and we'd all be smarter. Thanks for reading my ramblings - it's been enjoyble to reminisce.

Comments: I have many requests. No one I talk to seems to remember a cartoon named Krazy Kat. It was a comic strip but was also on tv. It starred Ignat Mouse, who would throw bricks at Krazy Kat who was the female cat in love with Ignat. I can't remember the police officer's name who would arrest Ignat. Do you have anything on it??? Was also interested in a wave file. Looking for the opening theme song to speed racer cartoon. I'm into cartoon trivia. I have many unanswered quetions and can't seem to find people who know the answers or who I'm talking about. Let me know if you know any. Trivia: Tennessy Tuxedo, what was the zookeepers name? Dudley Do Right, what was the Colonels name? If You can help I'd appreciate it. Will check my email often for reply. Thanks for Making my day. I LOVE THIS SITE!!!!!!

Comments: Four comments/questions: 1. Does anyone else out there remember "The Melvin the Monster Show" which I belive came on ABC? I have told my wife about it(she's too young to remember it) and I would like to show her some proof that it existed. I would especialy love to know if there are any episodes on tape of it. 2. Has Jay Ward's "Fractured Flicker's", a series where old silent films had comedy soudtracks added, has ever been put on video or shown on tv since the 1960's? I remember watching it, and it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on tv. 3. Speaking of Jay Ward, on his "Hoppity Hooper" series, there was a storyline where the characters went into some dimension and became walking, talking vegitables. I have very strong memories of this, but I never had a chance to see how the storyline ended. Could someone out there end 30 years of frustration and mystery for me? 4. Thanks for remembering "Linus the Lionhearted", one of my all-time favorite cartoons. Has anyone ever put it on video or is there a chance that we may see it on video someday? (I think it would be a great PR decision by Post if they would offer it!) Thanks for a great website, keep up the good work! Tom

Comments: Hello I like you web page alot, It's great to see some of those cartoon shows I throught I completely forgotten about. I just want to add a few other long for gotten shows that I haven't see hide nor hair of in a long time, and not seen on your web page yet. Show from the 60's like "the Many Adventures of Hercules" that one was one of my favorites, it got me interrested in Greek Mythology at a young age. Also I member show like an animated series of the Wizard of Oz, Smoky the Bear (also from the 60's) Hector Heathcoat, Samson and the Lion, The Reluctian Dragon and also Animated ver. of Laural & Hardy, the 3 Stooges and Planet of the Apes.
